I celebrated 25 years of life on planet Earth this past weekend with one of my favourite musical group activities, a Zaireeka listening party. 1997’s Zaireeka pits the audience at odds with the typical aural conformity. The gist? Set up four stereos at various positions in a comfortable room, perhaps with your favourite intoxicant, and settle in for 45 minutes of life-altering/tear-jerking sound waves being hurled at your ears from eight separate channels.
