Well, I just figured out what I’m going to be doing on this wonderful Friday night. @zefrank tweeted on Twitter, a link to this mixed bag of audio goodies. I had no idea what I was in for, but I came out 20 minutes later with a decent (albeit sometimes rough) track. I’ve always wanted a Monome or a Tonori-On since my first encounter with one at a local music shop. These things (step sequencers, actually) are just, fun. Throw in a drum machine and a keyboard synthesizer all synced up to each other, and you can mess around endlessly.

We may have a bit of a bias around these parts for the classic way of doing things. Recalling a line uttered yesterday about how the 50’s until the late 70’s was the best era for design aesthetic & style in the last century. My current project’s first album is planned to be released on vinyl and digital only, in hopes that the compact disc will go the way of the Dodo bird. So, when I showed this video to the vocalist of our group I wasn’t surprised by her remarks: “Amazing. I’m so happy this is still being done in the modern day. That’s surreal.”
