If you’re looking for a pick-me-up with a side of melancholy, than here’s the group for you. I had the opportunity to see Forest City Lovers perform at Pop Montréal last year and they didn’t disappoint; they kept the crowd entertained and cast an overall fun mood. Seems as though they’re hard at work on a 3^rd album. Wondrous! Anyway, here’s a couple of tunes to get you through Tuesday.

Back in ‘07 I decided that Vancouver was the place to spend the mid-summer month of July. To escape the heat for one night, I queried my pal Kate about any shows we could go check out. She had mentioned that Band of Horses were riding through town, and at the time I hadn’t heard of them but decided it was better than sittin’ around doin’ the thumb twiddlin’ thing. The Horses and their Band were alright, but the opener A Decent Animal is what caught my attention. Three elder, slightly fugly gentleman who can really play their instruments and get the crowd in a hex. I’ll take that over B-Spears anyday.
